The production of certain medically important radioisotopes like Cu-64 requires the irradiation of solid materials and the use of high-tech equipment. TARGO is the best turn-key solution for the production of solid target radiotracers, created by a close collaboration between Sant'Orsola Hospital (Bologna - Italy) Scientific Research Department, Tema Sinergie (Faenza - Italy) and Eckert & Ziegler Eurotrope (Berlin - Germany). While primarily designed to accomplish the production of Cu-64 TARGO is suitable for other isotopes that require the use of solid targetry and manages all of the steps required for their production.
TARGO - ElectroDeposition The coin is electroplated by the Electro Deposition Unit (TED) All necessary ancillary requirement is included Stand-alone system, easy to install in any laboratory
TARGO - Irradiation The coin is manually loaded into the irradiation unit The irradiation unit can be provided by the cyclotron manufacturer
TARGO - Transfer
The hot coin is released from the irradiation unit into the Solid Target Transfer System (STTS) funnel The STTS may transfer up to 6 coins into the hot cells
Metals and halogens are moved through 2 separate transfer lines to avoid cross contamination
4. DISSOLUTION, PURIFICATION AND LABELLING
TARGO - Dissolution, Purification and Labelling The coin is delivered into a dedicated hot cell (Tema Sinergie RES1)
Eckert & Ziegler's fully automated synthesis devices Modular-Lab Standard and the cassette-based Modular-Lab PharmTracer perform the dissolution, purification and labelling processes
